Nohi Mehrotra

  • Nohi (Vidhi Mehrotra) is a multi-talented artist whose abstract gestural paintings are inspired by her love for music. Growing up in India, Nohi was immersed in the world of Sufi and Hindustani Classical music, which echoed throughout her household and left an indelible mark on her artistic sensibilities. She was also surrounded by colorful textiles that adorned the walls, and the rich color palette and textural quality of these fabrics have influenced her work to this day.

After moving to the United States in 2011 to pursue her career in visual art, Nohi studied at the School of Visual Arts and The Art Student's League of New York. She now creates her paintings at her studio in Hoboken, New Jersey, where she channels the energy of music into her art. Her abstract gestural paintings are a visual representation of the rhythms and emotions she experiences while listening to music, and each stroke of her brush is an expression of the melodies and harmonies that inspire her.

Nohi's paintings can be found in private collections in New Delhi, Istanbul, New York City, and New Jersey, and her unique style has garnered attention from art enthusiasts around the world. In addition to her work as a painter, Nohi is also a ceramist and yoga/meditation instructor. Her diverse background, which includes education in Information Technology and Business Management, has given her a unique perspective on life and art that is reflected in her work.
